The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) have released the names of five people who died instantly in a collision on the Tsumeb-Otavi B1 road yesterday afternoon.

The deceased persons died when a Volkswagen sedan and an Iveco passenger bus collided head-on, at approximately 26 kilometres south of Tsumeb.

The incident happened at about 16h13.

According to NamPol’s head of public relations, Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi in an interview with Nampa on Monday, the five deceased people were identified by their close relatives as Michael Holongo, 36, who was the driver of the sedan.

Four other occupants who perished in the accident from the sedan are Martha Silvanus, 36, Flora Sheendelwako, 35, three-year-old Ferdinand Sheendelwako and the two-year-old Letshia Martin, she said.

Flora Sheendelwako was a constable at the Otjiwarongo Police Station, she said.
