The police investigates two separate cases of alleged suicides

The police in the Otjozondjupa Region are investigating two separate cases of alleged suicides which occurred Sunday night at Outjo and Osire.

Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the region, Inspector Maureen Mbeha told Nampa yesterday that 35-year-old Eugene Nepembe was found hanging from a tree with a wire around his neck on Farm Tsumis, outside Outjo, where he resided.

The deceased was a farmworker on the farm and his relatives have been informed, she said.

It is alleged that Nepembe had gone missing on Friday, but his colleagues did not report the matter to the police. They found his body around 19h00 on Sunday.

The 29-year-old Haure Pauline Namvhura also allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in her room around 20h00 on Farm Ouhave, some 15 kilometres east of the Osire Refugee Settlement.
