Three arrested for possession of cannabis at Sigone village

Three men were arrested for alleged possession of cannabis at Sigone village in the Kavango West Region on Saturday.

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in a crime briefing report on Sunday said it is alleged that the three men aged 50, 25 and 24 were arrested after police received a tip-off from members of the public.

The 690 grams of cannabis was allegedly found in a carry bag the suspects had in their possession.

The suspects will appear in the Kahenge Magistrate Court on Tuesday and police investigations into the matter continue.

In an unrelated incident at Rundu on Friday, a 40-year-old man was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.

The incident occurred around 09h00.

According to the police, the suspect was allegedly driving on a gravel road not far from the open market when he was arrested.

He appeared in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
