Three arrested for suspected stolen beef carcass and bribery

Three men aged 21, 38 and 42 were arrested on Friday for the possession of a suspected stolen beef carcass and bribery.

According to a police incident report issued on Sunday, the three men were arrested at the Masivi police check point in the Kavango East Region at around 08h00.

It is alleged that after the trio were found with the suspected stolen beef carcass, they attempted to bribe the police officer on duty by offering him money.

The value of the carcass has not been determined yet but the three men are expected to appear in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

In an unrelated incident, a man, whose age is not known, was arrested on the same day for allegedly obstructing police officers by blocking the road for their vehicle not to pass.

According to the report, the man also resisted arrest and is expected to appear in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Police investigations continue.
