Three fatalities due to road accidents were recorded

Three fatalities due to road accidents were recorded in the Kunene Region over the festive season.

Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Chief Inspector and Regional Traffic Coordinator in Kunene, Moses !Horaseb told Nampa in an interview on Monday 33 accidents were recorded in which three people died.

In 2018, the region recorded 27 accidents in which two people died over the festive season.

!Horaseb said law-abiding citizens and increased police presence helped to keep deaths on the road to a minimum.

With regards to traffic offences, 288 summons were issued and 13 arrests made. Five of those caught were driving under the influence of alcohol and eight had defective documents, he said.
