Peshawar: Three police personnel were killed and six others injured when militants opened fire on a police mobile van in Pakistan’s northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province early Thursday, police sources said. The incident occurred as the vehicle of the police quick reaction force came under gunfire in Upper Dir district during the early hours of the morning.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the injured personnel were shifted to a nearby hospital, with some reported to be in critical condition. Security forces have since cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation to locate and apprehend the attackers.
The outlawed organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has claimed responsibility for the attack through a statement released on social media platforms.
