The Namibian Police Force recorded three suicides over the weekend, according to a crime report issued on Sunday.

At Eenhana, a 43-year-old woman identified as Maria Ndino-Omuua Ngwali allegedly committed suicide by hanging on Friday.

The deceased’s body was found around 14h00.

“She was found in her room with a wire around her neck,” the report said.

The deceased was identified as Cornelius Johannes Dodds and the incident occurred between 10h00 and 11h00 at Farm Aub in the Khomas Region.

“It is alleged that the deceased was with his two farm labourers at the time of the incident and was seen by one of them pulling the trigger. He tried to intervene but Dodds proceeded with pulling the trigger. The hunting rifle was found between the legs of the deceased,” added the report.

A 21-year-old man allegedly also committed suicide by hanging at a farm near the Hochfeld settlement in the Otjozondjupa Region on Saturday.

The Namibian Police Force’s weekend crime report said the deceased was identified as Manfried Kauandenge.

Kauandenge was allegedly found hanging in his room with a wire around his neck at Farm Ongoromutjia around 20h00 on Saturday.

Meanwhile, an unidentified man drowned in the Fish River near Mariental in the Hardap Region on Saturday.
