Katima mulilo: Three employees of the Zambezi Regional Council were arrested Thursday afternoon on corruption charges related to a tender linked to the Zambezi Waterfront. They are expected to appear in the Katima Mulilo Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Chief Public Relations Officer for the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Josefina Nghituwamata, stated in an interview that she could not disclose the identities of the accused before their court appearance. Namibian Police Force Regional Commander for Zambezi, Commissioner Andreas Shilelo, confirmed that the detainees, comprising two men and a woman, are currently held at the Katima Mulilo Police holding cells.
Investigations into the matter are ongoing as authorities continue to scrutinize the details surrounding the tender process and the involvement of the arrested individuals.
