Tredoux, Pretorius Shine At Doubles Squash Tourney

Dries Tredoux and Carin Pretorius gave a fine performance at the In2Squash doubles tournament which recently took place in Pretoria, South Africa.

A total of 78 teams entered the tournament which saw players from various African countries, including South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe in action, while there were even some entrants from the United Kingdom.

Tredoux and Pretorius fared very well in the Mixed Doubles competition, where they reached the semifinals before losing to the eventual runners-up, Xander and Elani Landman from South Africa.

In the Men’s Division the ended in the Consolation Cup, where they eventually came 11th overall.

It was the first time that the Namibian pair had competed in an international doubles tournament and they said it was a great learning experience.

“It was an unbelievable experience and exposure for us at international squash doubles level. We learned so much from our competitors and brought many tips, tricks and useful ideas back with us,” Tredoux said.

They also thanked their sponsors MobiPay, Solitaire Press, OTB Sport, Estorm, Graffiti and Printech, as well as the Namibia Squash Association for making the tour possible.
