Turkish companies has been called by Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources ERE IS TODAY’S

WINDHOEK: Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Bernhard Esau has called on Turkish companies to add value to Namibia’s raw materials, thereby creating industries that stimulate economic growth.

Increased investments into Namibia are needed to further stimulate economic growth, employment creation, introduce new technologies, develop new export markets and create market opportunities for the country’s growing Small and Medium Enterprises sector, Esau said.

Esau was speaking at a one-day business forum between Namibia and Turkey here yesterday.

The forum was meant to give investors from Turkey an opportunity to interact with potential partners and senior officials from Government and the Namibian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI).

Esau also indicated that Namibia wants to stimulate market access of Namibian products, such as meat, grapes and other agricultural products in the Turkish market.

Namibia and Turkey last year signed an agreement on trade and economic cooperation aimed at encouraging cooperation in the areas of energy and mineral resources, agriculture and livestock development, education and health, science and technology.
