A 21-year-old woman, an Angolan national employed as a domestic worker, allegedly committed suicide by hanging at Onamukuku village.

The Namibian Police Force’s Weekend Crime Report availed to Nampa on Monday indicates that the deceased was found by children who went to look for cattle, hanging from the tree with a rope around her neck.

The victim was identified as Emilia Nauleshu. No suicide note was left behind and her next of kin are informed.

In a separate incident at Iipandayamiti village in the Omusati Region’s Etayi Constituency, the lifeless body of a 28-year-old Namibian male was discovered floating in a water pan. It is alleged that the victim, who was mentally challenged, was last seen on Monday around the village. His next of kin were informed and police investigation continues.

Meanwhile on Friday on the Okahao-Oshakati main road at Egululyeengumba village, it is alleged that a 33-year-old Namibian male pedestrian was hit by a silver Honda station wagon driven by a 46-year-old male. The victim died on the spot and is not known by villagers who were present at the scene and is yet to be positively identified, the report reads. Police investigations continue.

At Oshikango, three-year-old Jameson David John died at Engela hospital after he allegedly jumped from a Toyota Hilux pick-up without a canopy which was allegedly moving at 10 to 20 kilometres per hour. The boy was in the loading box of the vehicle with three adult persons while his parents were in the cabin of the vehicle. Investigations continue.
