Two men arrested for possession of stolen livestock

Two men were arrested on Monday for being in possession of stolen livestock at Mururani Village in the Kavango West Region.

This is according to Namibian Police Force Crime Investigations Coordinator for the region, Abner Agas, who told Nampa on Tuesday that the livestock was stolen from Mngungundlovu farm at around 17h00.

He said the two men were found in possession of two stolen oxen valued at N.dollars 20 000.

According to Agas, one of the suspects is a cattle herder of the stolen livestock.

He said the suspect were planning to sell the livestock at Katjinakatji village and share the money they get from the sale.

They are expected to appear in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

In an unrelated issue, a 20-year-old man was arrested for the possession of five cannabis parcels on the same day during a police search.

Police investigations into the matters continue.
