Two nabbed for drug possession at Kalkrand

The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Hardap Region arrested a 36-year-old man at Kalkrand for alleged possession of drugs valued at nearly N.dollars 1.6 million on Tuesday.

A crime report issued by NamPol on Wednesday, said the suspect was arrested during a routine police clean-up operation. He was allegedly found with 25 parcels of skunk cannabis worth N.dollars 1 587 750 in his possession.

A second suspect, a 37-year-old man, was arrested on the B1 road at Kalkrand, also during a clean-up operation, after he was allegedly found in possession of 4 058 Mandrax tablets. The tablets, valued at N.dollars 486 960, were confiscated.

Both suspects were detained at the Kalkrand Police Station and were expected to appear in the Mariental Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

Police investigations continue.
