Two people were arrested on Friday after they allegedly stole and slaughtered a goat without the owner’s consent at Farm Glocke, some eight kilometres from Outjo, the police weekend crime report indicates.

The Namibian Police Force’s report availed here on Sunday said the suspects, two adult males allegedly stole and slaughtered the goat valued at N.dollars 1 800.

The goat skin and some of the meat were recovered by the police, and the suspects are expected to appear before the Outjo Magistrate’s Court on Monday, the report reads.

In a similar incident, a case was opened at Sesfontien in the Kunene Region after three male suspects, two aged 14 and a 35-year-old allegedly hunted and killed an Oryx without a permit at Okakuju village in the Otjomatemba area.

The three suspects were arrested and the two minors were released in the care of their guardians. They are expected to appear in the Opuwo Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Police investigations in both matters continue.
