New delhi: China supports the United Nations as the main channel in addressing the governance gaps in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, cyberspace, the polar regions and outer space, Chinese Premier Li Qiang said on Tuesday. Li made the remarks when meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the 17th BRICS Summit.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the discussion between Premier Li and Secretary-General Guterres emphasized the importance of the UN’s role in global governance. Premier Li underscored China’s commitment to collaborating with international partners through the UN to effectively manage and regulate these critical emerging sectors. The meeting highlighted the shared interest in ensuring that technological advancements and global commons are governed in a cooperative manner.
