Hanoi: Vietnam’s 15th National Assembly has approved a robust gross domestic product (GDP) growth target of 10 percent or higher for the year 2026, as reported by local daily Nhan Dan. This target is part of a broader socio-economic development plan that was adopted during the assembly’s recent session.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the resolution outlines several key economic objectives for the coming years. One of the notable targets is to increase the country’s per capita GDP to between 5,400 and 5,500 U.S. dollars by next year. Additionally, the plan projects an average consumer price index growth rate of around 4.5 percent.

The resolution also focuses on enhancing the skills of the workforce, with a goal to have approximately 29.5 percent of the labor force holding degrees or certificates. This aligns with Vietnam’s broader objectives to boost economic output and improve the quality of its labor market.
