Vigilance of a Hochland Park resident ensures speedy arrest of four men who robbed a guesthouse in that area

WINDHOEK: The vigilance of a Hochland Park resident ensured the speedy arrest of four men who robbed a guesthouse in that area yesterday morning.

City Police Senior Superintendent, Gerry Shikesho told Nampa at the scene that the four men drew the attention of the resident when they ran away with the cash register of that accommodation establishment and he informed the City Police.

Shikesho said the robbers entered the guesthouse at about 11h00 yesterday morning, demanded the keys to the safe from the female receptionist and then locked her up inside a bathroom.

After cutting off the electric cables of the cash register, the four fled the scene with it in a green Okahandja-registered sedan vehicle, but did not get far, as City Police officers were at the scene within minutes and carried out the arrest.

The four suspects, all Namibians, are not known to City Police and are expected to appear in Windhoek Magistrate’s Court early this week.
