VISITING NAMIBIAN MINISTER VISITS ANGOLA’S CUNENE PROVINCE

A visiting Namibian delegation, led by that neighbouring country's Mines and Energy Minister, John Mutorwa, is making a working visit to Calueque town in Ombadja municipality in the southern Angolan province of Cunene.

The delegation, which included senior officials from Nampower and Nanwater, the Nambian electricity and water supply companies, was received here Wednesday by the Governor of Cunene Province, Kundi Paihama, as well as Angolan Energy and Water Minister JoAPound o Baptista Borges and Agriculture Minister Marcos Nhunga'

The two ministerial delegations are here to launch a trans-border water supply project, visit the Calueque Dam and an agri-business project under development in Calueque.

Calueque is located at 192 kilometers northwest of Ondjiva, the capital of Cunene Province, and it is considered as the granary of the province following the extension of arable land in surrounding areas and the introduction of small-scale fishing here.
