Warriors arrives in Moroni

The Brave Warriors finally arrived in Moroni, Comoros Island and are preparing for their Friday clash against the host in the 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) Qualifier.

The 20 men squad left Windhoek lunch time on Monday and arrived in Moroni on Tuesday afternoon.

We arrived safely via three countries SA, Ethiopia and Tanzania. As as expected, we were tired arriving yesterday around three so we just rested on the day of arrival.

We had a run out session early morning around 07h00 and we are slowly adjusting to this tropical weather. This afternoon we will have our first proper training session at the match venue and yes we are still confident that indeed we have what it takes to get the job done, Coach Bobby Samaria explains.

Meanwhile, UNAM goalie Charles Uirab was replaced by Calvin Spiegel of Okahandja United before departure due to passport issues.

After the clash in Moroni, The Brave Warriors and Comoros will meet in Windhoek on Sunday 4 August for the second leg and the overall winner will take on the winner of Madagascar versus Mozambique in the third and final round of the qualifiers.
