Warriors beat Comoros 2-0 in CHAN Qualifier

Debutant Elmo Kambindu and captain Dynamo Fredericks scored in the second half to lead the Brave Warriors to a comfortable 2-0 win over Comors island in Moroni on Friday afternoon in the 2020 African Nations Championship qualifier second round first leg.

The Brave Warriors takes a healthy lead into their second leg match on Sunday 4 August 2019 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium, which is a brilliant start for interim coach Bobby Samaria.

It was always to be a thought away game for Namibia, but the experienced Samaria prepared well enough to get the result that the team so much needed.

The team was a little unfit because we had a short time to prepare and the weather conditions didn't do us any favour as well but we came here with a believe and exceeded our expectations says Samaria.

Samaria adds that the second leg will be different and calls on the nation to support the team.

All i can say is that they will come pushing for an early goal and we will devise a strategy to counter that.

I know the public had different views out there but it is important to rally behind the team for the greater good of our game, pleads Samaria.

Tickets for the much anticipated return leg in Windhoek are selling on Computicket outlets for N$30 each in advance and N$50 at the gates. Football House will have them ready for sale from 11h00 on Monday.

The overall winner will take on the winner of Madagascar versus Mozambique in the third and final round of the qualifiers.
