Woman allegedly killed, burnt beyond recognition in capital

A Windhoek woman is suspected to have been killed by her boyfriend before setting her shack on fire where her body was found burnt beyond recognition in Katutura in the early morning hours of Sunday.

Namibian Police Force spokesperson Kauna Shikwambi confirmed the incident to Nampa that, the incident happened at around 04h00 at Namibia Nalitungwe informal settlement in Katutura.

It is suspected that the woman's boyfriend may have killed her first and set the shack on fire as an axe was found stuck in her neck, and the neighbors heard them arguing earlier that night at around 01h00.

The suspected is not yet arrested and the deceased was later identified as Katrina Silas and her next of kin have been informed while police continues with the investigations to determine what really happened.
