A 23-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a man believed to be her nephew’s roommate at Keetmanshoop on Saturday.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in a crime report on Wednesday said the incident allegedly occurred around 03h00 or 04h00 when the two men returned from a night out.
According to the crime report the woman had stayed at home while her nephew and the 28-year-old suspect went out for the night.
“It is further alleged that the suspect hid under the bed when the victim screamed for help,” said the report.
The suspect has been arrested and is expected to appear in the Keetmanshoop Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
Police investigations continue.
