Woman found dead in Tsumeb

WINDHOEK: Two Angolan nationals were arrested on Wednesday after they were issued voter registration cards at the Katwitwi Primary School in Kavango West.

Inspector Stephan Nuuyi of the Namibian Police Public Relations Division told a media briefing on Sunday that the incident took place at about 15h37. The suspects are 27 and 28 years old and will appear in the Rundu Magistrate Court on Monday. Police investigations continue.

In a separate incident in the Kavango west Region, the Kahenge Police opened a docket of inquest after Johannes Pessa (25) shot himself with a shot gun in the stomach. The incident took place on Saturday morning at about 06h00 in the Mazwa village. Police investigation continues.

The Police in Tsumeb opened a docket of inquest after a 56 year-old women, Elsie Magretha Theart was found dead in her room on Saturday at about 10h00. The deceased lived at house No.1582, Eland Street in the town. The next of kin were informed and police investigation continues.

In unrelated incidents in the Erongo Region, a 32 year old woman was raped by an unknown suspect at about 03h00 in Arandis on Sunday morning. The suspect fled the scene after passers-by from a nearby club found the two in the act. The suspect is still at large. Police investigations continue.

Three armed suspects with pistols robbed employees at Puma Petrol Station in Omaruru and stole N.dollars 500 at 03h20 on Sunday. The suspects assaulted one and held another petrol attended at gunpoint. Police investigations continue.

The Police in Ondangwa is investigating a reckless and negligent driving case after the driver of a motor vehicle, with Registration number N 141 ND lost control over the vehicle and overturned. The incident took palce at about 03h00 on Sunday morning. The driver and two passengers sustained injuries and were admitted at Onandjokwe Lutheran Hospital. Police investigation continues.

Inspector Stephan Nuuyi of the Namibian Police Public Relations Division told a media briefing here on Sunday the deceased, Elsie Magretha Theart, lived at house No.1582 Eland Street in that town.

Her next of kin have been informed, and police investigations continue.
