Workshop which will develop appropriate equipment in response to local needs established

OKASHANA: A manufacturing workshop which will develop appropriate equipment in response to local needs has been established at the Okashana Rural Development Centre (RDC) in the Oshikoto Region.

The Ministry of Urban and Rural Development has availed some N.dollars 6 million to ensure the establishment of the workshop.

The Okashana RDC, where the workshop is located, is situated about 10 kilometers from the Oshikoto Region’s capital of Omuthiyagwiipundi.

Deputy Minister of Urban and Rural Development, Silvia Makgone was at Okashana to officially inaugurate the workshop on behalf of her Minister Sophia Shaningwa yesterday.

This workshop is constructed for the purpose of researching, designing and developing of appropriate technologies that are tailor-made to respond to the needs of our rural communities, Makgone told those present.
