The Kavango East Region police are investigating the alleged murder of a 29-year-old woman discovered in the early hours of Wednesday at Rundu’s Ndama Sewerage plant.

According to the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) Crime Investigations Coordinator for the region, Bonifatius Kanyetu, on the same day, the deceased was reportedly chopped several times on the head with an unknown sharp object and died on the spot.

Her name is withheld as her next of kin have not been informed.

“The woman was last seen in the company of a friend at Fullmoon Bar and left with this friend after the bar had closed that night. Her lifeless body was then discovered at around 02h00 by members of the public who alerted the police,” he said.

Her body was taken to the Rundu State Hospital mortuary for postmortem.

Kanyetu has therefore requested the public for assistance on any information that might lead to the speedy arrest of the suspect responsible for the murder.

Police investigations into the matter continue.
