1.4 Million Stimulant Tablets Seized in Eastern Myanmar

Yangon: Myanmar authorities have seized 1.4 million stimulant tablets in Shan state, according to reports from the state-owned daily, The Mirror. The seizure took place in eastern Myanmar, showcasing the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region.



According to Namibia Press Agency, anti-narcotics police acted on a tip-off and conducted a search of four motorcycles in Monghpyak township, Shan state, on August 14. The search led to the discovery of the drugs, which were hidden in bags carried by the suspects.



The four individuals were arrested and charged under Myanmar’s Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. Authorities have stated that further investigations are ongoing to uncover more details related to this case.
