Ankara: Turkish authorities have seized 365 kg of drugs and detained 26 suspects in a coordinated anti-drug operation across six Turkish provinces and the Norwegian capital, Oslo, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Yerlikaya made the announcement on his social media platform X, explaining that the operations targeted an international network involved in drug production and distribution. The raids were conducted simultaneously in Trkiye and Norway, based on intelligence gathered by the Istanbul Police Department and Interpol branches. The exact timing of the operation was not disclosed.
Yerlikaya revealed that the raids led to the confiscation of 257 kg of skunk, 108 kg of cocaine, and some methamphetamine. Of the 26 suspects apprehended, 17 were formally arrested, while seven were placed under judicial control pending further proceedings. The remaining suspects were still undergoing legal processing.
