Hanoi: Vietnam's capital Hanoi aims to complete 600 km of railway lines and put 15 urban railway routes with 4,165 carriages into operation by 2045, local daily Kinh Te and Do Thi reported Monday.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Hanoi's urban railway development plan anticipates that the city's metro system will handle between 2.2 million and 2.6 million passenger trips per day by 2030.

By 2035, the railway system is projected to accommodate 35 to 40 percent of the city's public passenger volume, equating to between 9.7 million and 11.8 million trips per day. Nguyen Cao Minh, head of the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board, stated that priority will be given to several metro lines connecting key transport hubs such as airports, national railway stations, and densely populated urban areas.
