Young people should unite in order to change Africa, President Hage Geingob has said.

Geingob, who made these remarks during a courtesy visit by the African Union Youth Envoy Chido Mpemba on Wednesday, urged the youth to refrain from being tribalist or regionalist and to instead focus on uniting Africa.

“Let us work together, let us not just protest. We are all in this together, we are all trying to build nations, like on climate change how do we differ, we are actually all in it together. Let us look forward to uniting Africa and the world,” he added.

Mpemba was in Namibia to attend the launch of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) Targeted Report on Youth Unemployment.

“It has been amazing to see young leaders within your structure, young ministers, young parliamentarians, it is really a good thing. Namibia has been one of the countries to appoint a youth adviser to the president and we hope it will be implemented in other countries across the continent,” she told Geingob.
