Xiamen: The 25th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) is set to take place from September 8 to 11 in Xiamen, Fujian Province, as announced by the event organizers on Tuesday. The fair will cover an area of approximately 120,000 square meters and will host more than 70 investment-themed activities and over 100 roadshows, according to Vice Commerce Minister Ling Ji during a press conference.
According to Namibia Press Agency, this year’s fair will spotlight the United Kingdom as the guest country of honor. Delegations from over 110 countries, regions, and international organizations have registered to participate, with 51 countries and regions set to host exhibitions. This active participation comes amidst global economic challenges, including slow economic momentum, increasing trade and investment barriers, and sluggish cross-border investment, highlighting China’s continued attractiveness to foreign investors.
The CIFIT will also act as a conduit for countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), enhancing connections and promoting practical cooperation. Wang Jinfu, vice governor of Fujian, stated that 77 BRI participating countries and regions have confirmed their attendance, with expectations for new cooperation outcomes to emerge during the event.
First launched in 1997 and organized by the Ministry of Commerce, CIFIT has established itself as a significant platform for boosting investment and facilitating global development.
