Beijing: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi sent a congratulatory message to Lionel Aingimea on his reassumption of the office of Nauru’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, highlighted the progress in bilateral relations since China and Nauru resumed diplomatic ties. He noted that the two countries have developed growing political mutual trust and achieved fruitful results in practical cooperation.

Wang Yi acknowledged Aingimea’s firm adherence to the one-China principle and expressed China’s willingness to maintain sound working relations with him. He emphasized the intent to further deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, enhance coordination in international and regional affairs, and promote the sustained, healthy, and steady growth of China-Nauru relations.
