Accra: Chinese Premier Li Qiang arrived in Singapore for an official visit at the invitation of Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. This visit marks a significant moment in the relationship between the two nations, which have enjoyed 35 years of diplomatic ties.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Premier Li highlighted the strong momentum maintained in the bilateral relations over the years, characterized by increased political trust, effective practical cooperation, and enhanced people-to-people exchanges. He noted that the relationship serves as a model for mutual learning and cooperation between countries.
Premier Li emphasized that under the strategic direction of President Xi Jinping and Singaporean leaders, China-Singapore relations have advanced significantly. The establishment of an all-round high-quality future-oriented partnership has deepened cooperation across various fields, bringing substantial benefits to the peoples of both nations and contributing positively to regional peace and development.
Li expressed China’s willingness to collaborate with Singapore in aligning development strategies, expanding mutually beneficial cooperation, and continuing joint efforts in modernization. He stressed the importance of upholding true multilateralism and promoting common regional development.
Upon his arrival, Li was welcomed at the airport by Josephine Teo, Singaporean Minister for Digital Development and Information, and Cao Zhongming, Chinese Ambassador to Singapore.
