Luanda – Angolan Humanist Party (PHA) and National Liberation Front of Angola (FNLA) will hand over Thursday their candidacies to the Constitutional Court (TC) for the 24 August general elections, at a time there are two days only to go before the completion of the deadline for formalisation of the candidacies, opened on June 6.

In its press release, the Constitutional Court states that Angolan Humanist party (PHA) will forward its candidacy at 12:00 pm local time (11:00 am GMT), while the National Liberation Front of Angola (FNLA) has rescheduled for two hours later.

FNLA postponed in the last minute for unknown reasons the formalization of its candidacy initially scheduled for Wednesday.

At least ten, of the total of 13 political parties recognised in Angola, have already formalised their candidacies, including the ruling MPLA party and the main opposition UNITA, as well as the CASA-CE electoral coalition.

Angola put at more than 14.3 million the number of eligible voters, of whom 22,560 overseas.
