Geingob expresses sympathy to Gonzalez family

President Hage Geingob conveyed his condolences to the spouse and family of the late leading Mexican investor Alberto Bailleres Gonzalez, who died at the age of 90, on 02 February 2022.

In his message shared with the media on Friday, Geingob said: “I have learned with sadness about the passing of Mexican investor, Mr Alberto Bailleres Gonzalez. Mexico has lost a visionary businessman, who had made the choice to invest in Namibia. In that vein, Namibians will remember Mr Gonzalez as a friend and status investor who was intending to contribute to our development. During this period of grief for the family, on behalf of the people of Namibia and the Government, I extend condolences to his wife, Maria Teresa Gual, the children, and the entire family.”

The late billionaire mining mogul, one of Mexico’s most influential businessmen, owned the Erindi Private Game Reserve in the Otjozondjupa Region.
