Ithete Donates School Shoes and Sanitary Pads to Impalila Combined School Learners

Windhoek: The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, in collaboration with Rent-a Drum, donated school shoes and sanitary pads to 300 learners at Impalila Combined School in the Zambezi region.



According to Namibia Press Agency, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy, Natangwe Ithete, emphasized the importance of corporate social responsibility in education and national development during the handover ceremony. The initiative, made possible through the partnership with Rent-A-Drum, aims to demonstrate a commitment to communities and the future of Namibia.



Ithete stated that education is a crucial investment for breaking the cycle of poverty, highlighting that the donation can help ease the burden on parents and promote shared responsibility in ensuring no child is left behind in the pursuit of knowledge. He also mentioned the potential benefits for the current generation of learners from the discovery of oil and gas in Namibia, urging educators to equip students with necessary skills for future industries.



The Deputy Prime Minister encouraged collaboration among learners, teachers, and parents to advance national development goals and provide every child with the chance to learn with dignity. He expressed that the support given to Impalila learners should inspire them towards a promising future and reassured them of the government’s ongoing commitment.



Lenry Nchindo Shamwanga, a parent of a beneficiary, expressed gratitude for the donation, noting its impact in reducing financial stress for families on the Island. He remarked on the positive change the donation brings, allowing students to attend school confidently and focus on their education.
