Namibia Rugby Premier League log leaders Kudus Rugby Club solidified their position as the 2022 season favourites by crashing out of sorts Trusco United Rugby 43-20 in Walvis Bay on Saturday.

The coastal side scored their tries through double scorers Chad Plato and Aston Mukwiilongo with Zane Williams, Percy Nash and captain Cameroon Langenhoven adding a single try each.

Plato converted four of the seven tries scored to lead his side to an emphatic victory.

United suffered an early red card after hooker Gerhard Therion left his side a man less for 75 minutes.

United managed to score three tries, converting one and adding a penalty to lose their ninth match of the season and leave them facing relegation from the top league.

Tight head prop and Captain Eloff du Plessis, fly half Peter JV Vuuren and fullback Janus van der Berg scored the tries for United while scrum-half Reiner Bernade scored the conversion and a penalty.

In other matches played over the weekend, Wanderers demolished Grootfontein away from home by 49-21 points while the University of Namibia (Unam) got back to winning ways following their defeat to Kudus last week, through a hard-fought victory of 14-10 points over Rehoboth in Windhoek.

Reho Falcons lost 36-10 at home to Western Suburbs who solidified their grip on the fourth spot behind Unam.

With their victory, Kudus maintained their lead at the top of the log with 44 points from 10 matches having lost only once so far.

They are closely followed by Wanderers who have 43 points from the same number of games but have lost three times and accumulated more bonus points.

Third and fourth places are occupied by Unam and Suburbs respectively with 36 and 34 points while Rehoboth has 26 points in the fifth position having won five and lost five so far.

In sixth place is Grootfontein with 24 points from four victories and six defeats, while United are seventh with seven points.

Reho Falcons anchor the log with four points having lost all their 10 matches so far.
