Okorukambe: The Ovambanderu Youth League Congress is scheduled to start at Farm Du Plessis in the Okorukambe Constituency in the Omaheke Region on Friday. The event is expected to draw the attendance of the 12 Ovambanderu Youth League branches from areas such as Aminuis, Eiseb, Epukiro, Gam, Otjinene, Okotjituuo, and Opuwo, among others.
According to Namibia Press Agency, one of the event’s organizers, Tshepo Katjingurukee Mutenge, stated that the meeting will include the election of new leadership to guide the youth for the next five years. ‘We will also have training on leadership, social impact projects, mental health, and resilience,’ Mutenge said. He also mentioned that outdoor activities will be held to promote social interaction among the youth from different branches.
Mutenge emphasized the importance of these activities for socialization and their role in enabling youth to mingle with each other. Additionally, around-the-fire discussions are planned, where participants are expected to share ideas on various life matters. Ovambanderu Traditional Authority Chief, Eben Tjozohongo Nguvauva II, is set to deliver the keynote address, while Okorukambe Constituency Councillor, Rocco Nguvauva, will officially open the workshop on Saturday.
Transport arrangements have been made for participants, with buses scheduled to start transporting them to the venue from Thursday. Mutenge encouraged full participation, stating, ‘You must come in full numbers, for each voice is a flame, and together we are a fire that cannot be quenched. Let us honor the footsteps of our elders by walking forward with purpose, shaping the destiny of our people with wisdom, pride, and unity.’ The congress is set to conclude on Sunday.
