RMB Namibia and FNB Namibia were named the Best Foreign Exchange Provider 2022 in Namibia by the RMB Global Finance magazine as part of the G.W. Platt Foreign Exchange Awards for 2022.

The criteria for selecting the Foreign Exchange Providers Award winners included transaction volume, market share, the scope of global coverage, customer service, competitive pricing, and innovative technologies, which was a first for Namibia.

In a media statement issued on Tuesday, Chief Executive Officer of RMB Namibia Philip Chapman, said ‘Being named the Best Foreign Exchange Provider in Namibia validates our commitment to assisting customers and is a testament to a team that takes pride in developing innovative foreign exchange solutions.’

He said the award recognises efforts to provide the best solutions to a diverse range of clients, from individuals to corporates and financial institutions, and that as a trusted platform-based business, technology has enabled and transformed the forex landscape in recent years, putting power in the hands of the bank’s corporate and individual clients not only in forex dealing, but also in forex payments.

‘It allows our clients to manage their currency risks and cash flows more easily, quickly and transparently, making inward and outward cross-border payments easier, faster, and more transparent. We take care of our clients’ foreign exchange needs in a few simple steps whenever they need it, from anywhere in the world,’ Chapman said.

The ongoing pandemic-related disruption in cross-border trade and global supply chains, according to Joseph Giarraputo, publisher and editorial director of Global Finance, emphasises the importance of superior foreign exchange partners.

‘These awards recognise banks with strong foreign exchange departments that have best guided their clients through turbulent and unprecedented times,’ he said.
