Lima: Palmeiras forward Vitor Roque promised his team would come back stronger after its 1-0 loss to Brazilian rival Flamengo in the Copa Libertadores final on Saturday. The result at Lima's Monumental Stadium left Flamengo as the only Brazilian club with four Libertadores titles, while Palmeiras has won three.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Roque expressed his disappointment in a social media post on Monday, describing the defeat as "very painful." He acknowledged the team's efforts, stating, "It hurts because we knew we had everything we needed to win it. We fought until the last second, but it still wasn't enough. Even so, we won't give up until we succeed."

Roque faced challenges in making a significant impact during the match in Lima. He missed a crucial opportunity to equalize in the 88th minute when he sent a close-range shot over the bar. Despite this setback, the 20-year-old Brazil international has had a productive season, scoring 20 goals and providing five assists for Palmeiras. Roque joined the Sao Paulo club from Barcelona in February.
