Sydney: A man has died and another has been hospitalized in a critical condition following a workplace incident in northwest Sydney. Emergency services were called to the incident at a construction site in Carlingford, 18 km northwest of central Sydney, around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, and arrived to find two men with critical injuries.
According to Namibia Press Agency, local media reported that a concrete pump had fallen on the two men. Ambulance paramedics arrived and treated both men, aged 40 and 30, before transporting them to hospital. The 40-year-old died from his injuries in hospital, a police statement said, while the 30-year-old remained in a critical condition as of Tuesday afternoon.
The operator of the construction site, apartment developer Meriton, said in a statement that it was coordinating fully with the relevant authorities.
