15 Killed, 30 Injured in Bolivian Military Plane Crash

El alto: At least 15 people were killed and 30 others injured after a Bolivian military plane crashed in the western city of El Alto. The incident occurred when a C-130 Hercules aircraft belonging to the Bolivian Air Force skidded off the runway during landing at El Alto International Airport. Local media reported that the aircraft collided with several vehicles upon leaving the runway.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the aircraft was carrying cash from the Central Bank of Bolivia. Following the crash, a significant amount of banknotes was found scattered across the site, attracting onlookers and complicating rescue efforts.

In response to the crash, the national airline Boliviana de Aviacion announced the temporary closure of El Alto International Airport. This decision was made to facilitate ongoing rescue operations and ensure the safety of airport personnel and travelers.

The rescue operations continue as authorities work to manage the aftermath of this tragic event.
