Dhaka: The 5th Forum on Chinese language education in Bangladesh recently took place, gathering over 100 participants, including education officials, scholars, teachers, and Chinese language learners from both Bangladesh and China.

According to Namibia Press Agency, the event was highlighted by a speech from Sayema Haque Bidisha, the pro-vice chancellor of the University of Dhaka. Bidisha emphasized the pivotal role of the Confucius Institute in uniting Chinese language education institutions across Bangladesh. She praised the institute for fostering cooperation and resource sharing, which have significantly contributed to enhancing the quality of Chinese language teaching in the country.

Bidisha further mentioned that by learning Chinese, Bangladeshi students could gain a profound understanding of China's extensive history, culture, and modern advancements. This knowledge, she suggested, provides a foundation for future cooperation between Bangladesh and China.

A notable development during the forum was the launch of an initiative to establish the Bangladesh Chinese Language Teachers Association, aimed at further strengthening the Chinese language education framework in Bangladesh.
