With the 2024 general elections less than four months away, the NationalDemocratic Congress (NDC) and all other political parties are busy drawing upand launching their manifestos. The NDC has just launched its manifesto forthe upcoming elections. It is important to analyse the content of the manifestowithout prejudice. After spending some hours scrutinising the content of the manifesto, I am of the view that this is the most comprehensive, inclusive, feasible, inspirational, and practical manifesto since 1992. If Ghanaians vote for the NDC, through this manifesto, the sunshine of hope will break through the clouds of hopelessness, poverty, sickness, and joblessness and lead to a Ghana we strive for and will all be proud of.The manifesto is full of hope, it resonates with the masses, and it addressesalmost every challenge currently facing Ghanaians. What makes this manifesto unique and exceptional is that it does not only observe and identify the needs of Ghanaians, but it also provides a system atic approach through which those problems can be solved. In terms of the Economy, the NDC manifesto has provided a clear and concise measure of addressing the economic challenges in this country. In the agriculture sector, the manifesto directly responds to issues identifiedin the cocoa subsector, vegetable horticultural production subsector, foodsubsector, poultry, and everything around agriculture.Incredibly, the manifesto was specific and not too generic, it includesdeliberately tailored programs that are designed to address the challengeswithin the Ghana Cocoa Board. The NDC has in the manifesto promised to establish cocoa colleges in all thecocoa growing regions to educate and train cocoa farmers on how to efficientlyembark on their farming activities. There is also a program for free healthdelivery services to all cocoa farmers which will be paid for by the Ghana CocoaBoard.Additionally, the manifesto consists of an elaborate plan to revamp thecollapsing poultry industry to boos t poultry production and also improve themeat manufacturing sector. The manifesto is extraordinarily comprehensive touching on the most important issues that impact the living conditions of Ghanaians ranging from food insecurity, food inflation, taxation, exchange rate, and interest rate to issues of national development such as infrastructure, education, health, and the economy. In general, this is the most elaborate, comprehensive, and inclusive manifestoever in this country, it presents measures required to fight corruption, statecapture and achieve good governance, enhance the lives of women, children, the aged as well as People Living With Disabilities (PWDS).The content of the manifesto is factually accurate, it represents theaspiration of all Ghanaians, because the ideas in the manifesto are thecollective views, concerns, and concerns of Ghanaians in different sectorsranging from teachers, lawyers, Doctors, traditional rulers, farmers, businessowners, nurses, students, traders, journa lists, artisans, etc.Indeed this manifesto has all the blueprint and mechanisms required to resetthis country to the path of growth, development, prosperity, and economicprogress.Source: Ghana Web
