Afghan security forces have captured those related to attacks on government employees in capital Kabul and foreign tourists in central Bamiyan province, Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman of the Afghan caretaker government, said on Monday.
The captives, including a Tajikistan national who was planning a suicide bombing, were arrested during military operations conducted by security personnel on the outskirts of Kabul and eastern Nangarhar province, Mujahid posted on his social media platform X account.
Without providing details about the number of arrested insurgents, the official said security forces had found a suicide vest, two arms, and a quantity of ammunition from their hideout.
Subsequently, two insurgents were killed and several others were arrested during operations launched in relevant areas of Kabul and northern Faryab province, Mujahid said.
Four people, including three Spanish nationals, were killed, while seven others, including four foreign tourists, were wounded in a shooting attack in Bamiyan
province in May.
