Kunene: Final logistical and administrative preparations have been completed ahead of the North West Stream First Division (NWSFD) promotional play-offs, with organisers expressing confidence that Outjo's Etoshapoort Stadium is ready to host the tournament this weekend. Regional Coordinator of the Kunene Regional Football Association, Bolla Nangombe, informed Nampa on Thursday that all key stakeholders have worked together to ensure the event is staged successfully.
According to Namibia Press Agency, Nangombe stated that the Outjo Municipality has spent the past two weeks carrying out minor maintenance work at the stadium, while the Etoshapoort Stadium pitch has been kept free of football activities for the past week to allow the grass to recover and provide an excellent playing surface. He added that the Namibia Football Association (NFA) Competition Desk has provided clear operational directives, with all key match-day personnel, including security officers, medical teams, and ball boys, fully coordinated and briefed to ensure the smooth running of the competition.
"We are in the final stages of our preparations and are confident everything is in place for a successful tournament. The stadium is ready, the pitch is in excellent condition, and all the necessary operational arrangements have been completed," Nangombe said. He expressed confidence that the event will be one of the best-hosted competitions Outjo has ever seen, boasting that 'to all the travelling teams and fans, we are ready for you. You will not be disappointed by the warmth, hospitality, and friendship of the Kunene people.'
