Katima mulilo: Local business Greatlands Investments has made a significant contribution to Alufea Sampofu Combined School by donating 100 desks and 100 chairs.
According to Namibia Press Agency, the handover was marked by a ceremony during which Fredrika Nambahu, Human Resources Director of Greatlands Investments, emphasized the organization's commitment to education and the well-being of children. Nambahu expressed the company's dedication to supporting the educational needs of children, stating, "We appreciate, love and deeply care for our children. Most importantly, our children belong to all of us as a nation and we vow to protect our children."
The Zambezi Region's deputy education director, Norah Munembo, received the donation on behalf of the school, recognizing it as a vital partnership that supports regional educational development. Munembo highlighted the importance of the donation, noting that it is "not a mere delivery of furniture, it is an investment in the future of our country." She urged the students to make the most of their improved learning environment and take good care of the new furniture.
Representing the students, Brave Makange and Chuma Mutumwa expressed their gratitude for the donation. Mutumwa acknowledged the impact of the support from Greatlands Investments, remarking, "Your donation is a symbol of hope, care, and commitment to education. It shows that Greatlands Investments believes in us and in our potential to become the future leaders of our community and our nation."
The donation is set to benefit the school's 1,372 learners, spanning Grades 0 to Grade 9, by providing a more conducive learning environment.
