Windhoek: The late Archbishop Julius Tjizee Uapuikua Hoveka of the Father Tjijombo St John's Faith Mission will be laid to rest at Sukkelaar Pos in the Omaheke Region's Otjombinde Constituency on Sunday. Hoveka, aged 82, passed away on 05 November 2025 in Windhoek.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Hoveka was appointed as the archbishop on 07 September 2025, succeeding the church's founder, the late Archbishop Petrus Katikisa Daniel Tjijombo, who died on 16 June 2023. Church spokesperson Bishop Uazenga Ngahahe announced that Hoveka's body will leave Windhoek on Friday and journey to his homestead, Sukkelaar, also known as Rama, in the Otjombinde Constituency.

The procession will make a stop at Gobabis, where mourners will gather at the church to pay their respects. "From Gobabis, we will proceed to Epukiro Post 3 for a prayer session in the Otjikatumba area, followed by a short memorial at the church in Otjombinde," Ngahahe explained.

Following these ceremonies, Hoveka's body will be transported to his homestead. "Saturday is reserved for a memorial service with tributes to the late Archbishop Hoveka," Ngahahe added. The burial is scheduled for 10:00 on Sunday, with church leaders, family members, and the head of the homestead set to speak.

Hoveka became part of the church at 17 in 1960 and served as one of the deputies to the late Archbishop Tjijombo, together with Eliphas Katemone Tjingaete, the first chief of Otjombinde. "Archbishop Hoveka was committed to his spiritual duties and provided counselling to many within the church," Ngahahe stated.

Hoveka's family shared that he leaves behind his wife, 15 children, and over 100 grandchildren.
