Amman: The second Asian Women's U16 Volleyball Championship commenced as China narrowly defeated South Korea 3-2 in an exciting match in preliminary Group C. The event took place at Prince Hamzah Hall in Hussein Youth City.

According to Namibia Press Agency, South Korea started strong by winning the first set 25-11. China responded by taking the second set 25-20. South Korea then took the lead again with a 25-19 victory in the third set. However, China leveled the match by winning the fourth set 25-19 and ultimately secured the win by taking the tiebreaker 15-13.

A total of fourteen teams are participating in the eight-day tournament, including China, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Australia, the Philippines, Qatar, Kazakhstan, India, Jordan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Chinese Taipei, and China's Hong Kong. The top four teams from the competition will qualify for the 2026 World Women's U17 Championship.
