Minsk: Belarus will raise its basic unit by 5 percent starting from January 1, 2025, the press service of the government announced on Monday. The adjustment will see the basic unit increase from 40 to 42 Belarusian rubles, equivalent to 12.9 U.S. dollars, following a resolution signed by Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko.According to Namibia Press Agency, this adjustment will impact a range of financial elements including allowances, scholarships, taxes and fees, fines, and other payments that are tied to the basic unit. The last modification to the basic unit was instituted on January 1, 2024, when it increased from 37 to 40 rubles, equivalent to 12.28 U.S. dollars.
