Body Discovered at Okambonde Village: Namibian Police Investigate Headless Corpse

Okambonde: The headless body of a 52-year-old truck driver was discovered at Okambonde village in the Oniipa area on Monday. The unsettling discovery was made by local community members who stumbled upon the body near an earth dam.

According to Namibia Press Agency, Deputy Commissioner Titus Ekandjo of the Namibian Police Force in the Oshikoto Region reported that the body was covered with a blanket, and the head was placed on a pillow. The deceased was found in a supine position with legs tied together using a black cable and had visible bruises on the back. Additionally, footprints and vehicle tire marks were observed near the scene.

Further investigation revealed that the truck's trailer was located at Ondangwa Shoprite, although the truck's bobtail remains missing. As of now, the deceased's next of kin have not been informed, and no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. The police are actively pursuing the investigation.

In an unrelated incident, the police reported that a 46-year-old man committed suicide by hanging at Epuku village on Friday. Deputy Commissioner Ekandjo stated that the man had left his house with water containers, purportedly to fetch water. His wife later discovered his body hanging near their house, with a rope around his neck. No suicide note was found at the scene.
